Mediterranean Fishermen’s Network (2012)

Medarnet is a network consisting of artisanal fishermen in the Mediterranean sea, with members in Spain, France, Italy and Greece.  The Network defends artisanal fishing as a livelihood, both in the present and the future, and aims to become a true agent of change towards sustainability in the Mediterranean.  Its mission focuses on a real commitment to sustainability, representation and participation in decision-making processes, social recognition of traditional knowledge, fair trade committed to the sea, as well as awareness and cooperation.

WWF Mediterranean Programme, together with Fundación Lonxanet, work to facilitate, coordinate and strengthen this network.
