Charter for the future. School workshops 2008/2009
Sustainable development projects in coastal communities, launched in countries like Peru and Bolivia, enabled Fundación Lonxanet, in 2009, to raise awareness among young students of the importance to modify their conduct and direct them towards a lifestyle that is more sustainable and respectful of the environment. After the talks and workshops, the students drafted a commitment charter which they read out in the town council, asking the adults to advocate responsible consumption of resources. Play

Guardians of Lira. Outreach response to the Prestige
The Prestige catastrophe was a real tragedy for the marine environment and for those who work it. However, the incident has also served as a stimulus for artisanal fishermen, aware of the need to build a future geared towards direct marketing of the product. Through fishing workshops and fishing tourism, the fishing associations - in this case in Lira- dignify and publicise the profession, championing the sustainable use of resources. Play

Charter for the future. School worshops 2010/2011
Through awareness-raising campaigns on the importance to respect the environment so as to bring about a better world, in 2010/2011, Fundación Lonxanet imparted several different workshops on artisanal fishing, north-south relations and energy use and cooperation to schools in Muros, Ponte do Porto, Carnota and Valdoviño. The recipients of these dynamics, all of them secondary students, discovered at first hand, from the fishermen and shellfish-gatherers themselves, the importance of understanding that the sea is "everybody's"; they shared their findings with the representatives of their respective town councils and launched proposals for the future.
